Polish Fudge

My parents just returned from visiting my sister, brother in law and niece in Toronto. They live very close to an old Polish neighbourhood, but like most old neighbourhoods, the shops selling traditional food and clothing are disappearing. Fortunately, there are a few left and my parents always make a point to pick up a bag of krowki to bring home. Needless to say, the large bag won't last long at all!
It's definitely a family favourite.

A month ago, my parents were in Stonewall, Manitoba visiting my dad's mother and father. Another food gift that my parents shared with us were two giant bags of homemade chrusciki. Our son called them Babka cookies, and after we dusted them with copious amounts of fresh powdered sugar he made short work of one of the bags. Another family favourite.
